Laser vs IPL
Laser and IPL treatments are both very popular forms of permanent hair removal however although they both use light to heat the hair follicle and prevent regrowth, the technology used the deliver the light actually quite different! Lasers produce a specific type of light which consists of one wavelength, all going in one direction, this creates the single beam of light. The laser beam means that it can target specific and controlled areas of skin, significantly reducing the risk of skin damage.
IPL uses a wider range of visible light wavelengths, covering broader areas of the skin – similar to a camera flash or a torch. Not only is there less control in application with IPL but olive skin through to darker skin are recommended to avoid using this method of hair removal as poor results and negative side effects are more likely. Laser Hair Removal has been clinically proven to be the most effective hair removal treatment for nearly all skin types and The Laser and Skin Group are proud to offer industry leading laser technology for all our clients.

Candela GentleMax Pro
We are proud to offer an innovative piece of laser technology to our clients, the Candela Gentle Max Pro. It is the combination of two lasers with gold standard wavelength, the 755 nm Alexandrite laser for light skin and 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for dark and Asian skin. This new technology can not only remove unwanted body hair permanently but it can also treat leg veins, diffuse redness, pigmented lesions and many more skin ailments which effect both men and women and all skin types. The Gentle Max Pro does not cause any pain during treatment as it uses a cryogenic cooling spray to make the treatment as relaxing as possible. The spray also makes it less likely for hyper pigmentation to occur which is a potential side-effect of other laser hair removal machines.
Not only is it pain free but thanks to dual laser technology, the Gentle Max removes fine hairs that would normally be missed by other machines meaning that hair can be removed on your face, underarms, bikini line and chest.
The Gentle Max Pro is FDA approved and can be used on all skin types.
